Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign (NSC) works with Nicaraguan organisations and social movements fighting for social and economic justice by promoting and seeking support for their activities in the UK.
Transnational food production is a major contributor to climate change, disease and environmental collapse. Shifting climate patterns affecting food production mean farmers are on the frontlines of responding to climate breakdown. NSC’s Nicaraguan partner organisation, the Rural Workers Association (ATC), is a founding member of the global movement La Via Campesina and works with small-scale farmers to produce food in a way that protects people and planet.
The ATC also runs the Latin American Institute of Agroecology (IALA) Ixim Ulew in Nicaragua, which offers degrees in agroecology for young leaders from rural communities across Nicaragua and Central America.
This year, you can buy a Gift for Nicaragua to support the training programme for young people at IALA Ixim Ulew. You can donate any amount, and 90% will go to IALA. In return for your donation, you will receive a Friendship Mural card (pictured) that you can give as a present. We can claim Gift Aid on these donations, so please tick the Gift Aid box.
