When the only thing you have left to lose is your life, would you choose to fight for the lives of others? Fifteen year-old Stella, Walter and Leonie want to go to school, but when the National Army of Sharrowland declares war on young people over fourteen, their only hope of staying alive is to join the Resistance. Like them, Oscar and Freddie also endure the hardships of war and share their dream of a free and peaceful Sharrowland.

Inspired by a three-week stay in Nicaragua in 2017, ‘Beyond the Volcano’ is about hope and the belief that when brave young people work together, they can achieve the future they deserve.
