…. look out for us on our stall with the Environmental Network for Central America (ENCA) throughout the festival.

Still time to register on https://elsuenoexiste.wordpress.com/

NSC has organised a workshop 9.30 – 10.45 Saturday 6 August entitled ‘Snapshots of agroecology, food sovereignty, climate justice: Wales (Landworkers Alliance); Nicaragua Rural Workers Association (ATC); Brazil (Landless Workers movement).’

The climate crisis, COVID and war related disruptions to food supply chains have resulted in grave threats to the lives and livelihoods of millions of people across the world. These successive crises demonstrate how precarious our current transnational, corporate-driven food and agriculture systems are as well as being grossly exploitative of people and the environment.

For the past thirty years, La Via Campesina (LVC), the global movement of peasants and indigenous peoples, has been denouncing global food corporations and advocating and putting into practice solutions  based on the principles of agroecology, food sovereignty and social transformation.

This workshop will provide an overview of La Via Campesina (LVC) and then snapshots providing examples from LVC member organisations in Nicaragua (ATC), Brazil (MST), and Wales (LWA).

Not able to go to El Sueno or the workshop but would like to know more? After the festival we will post the presentations on our website!
