Nicaragua 10th in global gender equality rankings

The World Economic Forum Global Gender Report 2013, ranks Nicaragua in 10th place (out of 135 countries) while the UK and US lag behind in 18th and 23rd places respectively. Cuba and Ecuador, also members of ALBA rank 18th and 23rd. The findings are based on indicators of access to education, health care and participation in economic and political life.
