If you would like to run the marathon for Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign then please read on. We are a tiny organisation and sometimes find it hard to get runners so do your best to pass the word around.

The marathon will take place on Sunday April 24th 2016. This year Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign is supporting an exciting new link between a hospital in Nuneaton and a hospital in Managua. After a mutual exchange of doctors and other health workers earlier this year, the George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Unison West Midland Region have resolved to send a container full of medical supplies to their Nicaraguan counterpart. As Nicaragua is the 2nd poorest country in Latin America & the Caribbean such supplies are often unavailable and NSC will help raise funds for this project.

Money raised from the London marathon will go to our work – raising money for this container appeal, sending delegations, bringing over Nicaraguan speakers, producing a magazine and supporting trade unions and co-operatives in Nicaragua.

This is what we ask financially: Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign has to pay £350 (tbc) for the places. Either you can pay £50 towards the place and raise £1500 in sponsorship OR you can pay £175 and raise £1375 . Both sound a lot but many charities request £2000, considerably higher. Almost everyone who has run for us has managed to reach the target amount.

It's a fantastic route and atmosphere so please spread the word and get in touch.
