A CID Gallup poll released on 1 October indicated a continued feeling that the country is heading in the right direction but also strong concerns for more and better paid jobs. The Sandinista Party has 52% support across all ages and sectors while the combined opposition trails far behind with 10%. According to CID Gallup analysis “the FSLN receives the support of a united and constant group, in the face of an opposition ever more disunited, which assures one way or another continued Sandinista stability.” The public figure with the highest level of popular support continues to be Aminta Granera, head of the National Police, with 81% approval.
