Founded in 1978, NSC works in solidarity with Nicaraguan organisations and social movements fighting for social and economic justice by promoting and seeking support for their activities in the UK.
Trade union linking is carried out through our sister organisation, the Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign Action Group (NSCAG).
Our funding comes from affiliations, donations, sales, raffles, appeals, sponsored events, film shows and other activities.
NSC has three part time staff in London. Our Annual General Meeting elects a Board of Trustees made up of a chair, treasurer and up to 13 other members.
NSC is a limited company registered in England and Wales. Company registration number: 2093384. Registered office: 86 Durham Rd, London N7 7DT

NICARAGUA SOLIDARITY CAMPAIGN PRIVACY NOTICE
Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign (NSC) has a database on which we save the following information if you are involved in our work, for example as a member, non-member supporter, sales customer or volunteer (including working at festivals). We also keep this information if you have travelled to Nicaragua with us as a brigadista or member of a study tour or delegation.
The database holds your name, address, email and phone number (if you have given them) and financial information for membership and gift-aid purposes.
We also have email lists which only contain your name, organisation name (where relevant) and email address.
We use this data to provide you with on-going information about our work (including appeals for funds), events you might like to be involved in, sales and raffle opportunities and news from Nicaragua.
We do not collect any additional personal data, carry out wealth screening or buy or sell lists.
All the personal data is stored in the NSC office and is only used by NSC staff and occasionally a volunteer. Both our website server and the company which provides the shopping basket facility on our website shop are based in the UK and are fully compliant with GDPR.
How long we keep your data
Our general rule is that if you have not donated or bought anything from us in the last three years then we take you off the list and/or delete your details unless you are a member, ex-brigadista or similar. However, we are required under UK tax law to keep your name, address and contact details for a minimum of 6 years for gift aid purposes.
You can tell us by email, phone or letter if you no longer wish to receive mail or emails. We will then take you off the list at once but keep a record of your details as explained above. Click here for our contact details.
What are your rights
If you wish to change any of your details or to see what we have then please contact us. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office https://ico.org.uk/
